It is never too late to join the Leaps N Beats Dance family; therefore you can join at any time throughout the term. After your free trial class your fees will be calculated for the remaining weeks left in the term.
After your trial class if you are continuing classes with us, you will fill out an enrolment form. After that process we will then email you an invoice for the term or the remainder of the term (depending when you join us) and you can either pay this via bank transfer or cash. Fees are paid by term.
There are no uniforms at Leaps N Beats Dance. Your child can wear anything they like as long as they can move freely in it, without tripping. Although you can’t go wrong in a leotard and ballet skirt. We ask if your child is doing an after-school class, that their clothing is form fitted so teachers can see your child’s alignment.
It is highly recommended your child does have the shoes required for the class they are participating in, although it is not compulsory, except for classes such as tap where it is a necessity for the class. However, your child is more than welcome to trial classes in bare feet. For combo classes like ballet and jazz just ballet shoes we would recommend.
Mum’s and dad’s can wear anything as long as it is comfortable to move around in and sit on the floor in. Bare feet or socks is recommended for the class.
All classes start with a free trial class. This is where you can bring your child along to try with no obligation to join, but we KNOW you and your child will absolutely LOVE it!
Of course, we have quite a number of Dad’s that come weekly with their child. This class is such a beautiful bonding time with your child we wouldn’t want dad’s to miss out on it.
If a child misses their regular class, they are eligible for a make-up class so long as we are aware of their absence before their class commences. The make-up class must take place in the same term as the missed class. We also cannot guarantee that a make-up class will be at a convenient time for you. However, fees will not be refunded or credited where a parent is unable to find a convenient make-up class.
This depends entirely on the child, so the best thing to do in this case would be to bring them in for a free trial and see how it goes!
Each class has been designed for particular age groups and carefully revised and created. We incorporate the use of props and include different aspects of the class, so your child doesn’t get bored and the class moves along at a great pace. Your child will get used to the duration of the class in no time at all.
We do have limited seating in the room, so you can stay and watch your child which is a lovely thing to do. However, if your child is distracted it is up to the teacher’s digression whether it is best for you to stay or leave and come back.
Instead of an end of year concert which can be quite daunting and a timely event we offer a end of year display in the studio. It is held at the same time as their regular class where we invite family to come and watch class work the children have been working on throughout the term and a short routine. There is no pressure involved and has a similar feel to their weekly class which they find comforting and have become familiar with and of course there is no make-up!!
Instead of an end of year concert which can be quite daunting and a timely event we offer a Presentation Day in the studio, on the last day of classes in Term 4. It is held at the same time as their regular class where we invite family to come and watch class work the children have been working on throughout the term. There is no pressure involved and has a similar feel to their weekly class which they find comforting and have become familiar with and of course there is no make-up!! On this day every child will receive a medal and certificate.
