Questions? We’ve got you.
Everything families commonly ask before starting at Leaps N Beats, from free trials and class watching to shoes, payments and make-up classes.
Can we try a class before committing?
Absolutely. Every new student can attend a complimentary trial class before deciding to enrol. There is no obligation to continue.
Can parents watch their child during dance class?
Parents are welcome to watch Petit Leapers. Grand Leapers classes are drop-off and pick-up to help build independence and focus, with special Family Watching Weeks throughout the year.
What if my child is shy or doesn’t participate much in their first class?
That is completely normal. Some children join in straight away, while others prefer to watch and settle in first. We encourage families to give it a few weeks while confidence and familiarity build.
Is the class duration appropriate for my child’s age?
Yes. Each class is designed around the age and developmental stage of the children attending, with younger classes using frequent changes of music, movement, activities and props.
What should my child wear? Is there a uniform?
There is no compulsory uniform. Comfortable clothing that allows free movement is perfect. For Grand Leapers, more fitted clothing can help teachers see alignment and movement clearly.
Is my child required to wear dance shoes?
Mumma & Bubba: barefoot. Petit Leapers: ballet shoes. Grand Leapers Ballet & Jazz: ballet shoes. Grand Leapers Musical Theatre: jazz shoes. No dance shoes need to be purchased before a complimentary trial.
What if my 3-year-old isn’t ready for an independent Petit Leapers class?
They are welcome to begin in Mumma & Bubba with a parent or special grown-up. It can be a gentle stepping stone into Petit Leapers when they are ready.
Are dads welcome to join Mumma & Bubba classes?
Absolutely. Mums, dads and other special grown-ups are all welcome. The class is about connection, movement and one-on-one time with your child.
Can I bring my baby along to Mumma & Bubba?
Yes. Babies are welcome to stay in a pram or carrier while you participate with your dancer.
How does the payment process work?
When booking a complimentary trial, card details may be requested to secure the booking. The card is not charged for the trial. If you choose to continue, the applicable class pack is charged. If you do not continue, there is no enrolment charge.
What should parents wear to Mumma & Bubba classes?
Comfortable clothing that is easy to move in is ideal. Activewear is perfect. Bare feet or socks are recommended.
What happens if my child misses a class?
Students may attend up to two make-up classes per term when we are notified before the scheduled class begins. Make-ups must be used within the same term and are subject to availability.
Is there an end-of-year performance?
We do things differently. Instead of a traditional concert, each class holds an in-studio Presentation Day during the regular class time, with family invited to watch. No long rehearsal season, no large-stage pressure, and no compulsory costumes or makeup.
